Rigid Profiles

Rigid profiles are often under mechanical constraint when used in structures, particularly in the construction sector.

However, rigid profiles are also used in many applications in industry thanks to the huge variety of materials available.

They can be transparent, fireproof, conductive, resistant to impact, UV, temperature, etc.

Rigid profiles are mostly cut into lengths using a saw. Delivery lengths range from just a few centimetres to several metres.

The tools used to product for rigid profiles include the machine die, which shapes and regularises the profile, and a cooling system. This tool is a highly specialised system, containing vacuum sections to maintain the shape of the profile and cooling circuits to ensure temperature control.

It represents a major proportion of tool costs.

  • Friction profiles for train doors made from HDPE
  • Protective covers for electronic circuits, made from anti-static PA 12

  • Label holders made from polypropylene.
  • PVC profiles for binder spines
