Extrusion process

Extrusion is a continuous process used for manufacturing profiles and tubes.

It converts pellets of synthetic organic material into a given profile by forcing the material through a die.

An extruder mainly consists of a rotating screw which pushes the material through a heated cylinder.

At the exit of the die, the profile is hot. It is cooled and maintained in shape by calibrators which stiffen it and give the definitive dimensions to it.

When cooled, it is pulled by means of a haul-off , then received after cutting in lengths  or reels.
